Lowell and Deb Stewart established Stewart Quarter Horses in 1984. Lowell’s brother, Tyler, joined in partnership shortly thereafter and managed our successful show string for years before retiring from the horse business in 2002. Lowell and Tyler grew up with horses, and the business was started purely for the enjoyment of raising a few foals and showing at AQHA shows. However, several factors allowed Stewart Quarter Horses to transcend from a small farm to the major breeding facility that it has become today. The three most important factors were our cherished friendships with Sonny Thomison and Ray Logan, a lot of good luck, and the arrival of a very special colt we named Playgirls Conclusion.
Stewart Quarter Horses has been one of the leading breeders of Halter horses in the world for the past 10 years. We were the #1 breeder in 2000 and 2001. Stewart Quarter Horses has raised numerous World Champions, Superior Halter Horses R.O.M.’s, and countless Futurity winners. |
